Zambales went into a frenzy as the annual Dinamulag Mango Festival made a remarkable comeback after a three-year hiatus.

Zambales celebrated the Mango Festival for nine consecutive days, culminating on April 29, 2023. The festival showcased local cultural icons and agricultural products in honor of the carabao mango, which is the pride of Zambales.

The Dinamulag Festival, the region’s largest and most anticipated annual event, celebrated the province’s sweet and juicy bounty of mangoes in full swing.

The highlight of the festival was the grand float parade, featuring a kaleidoscope of mango-themed floats, where visitors and locals alike were thrilled by the vibrant colors and huge mango replicas.

The parade was complemented by street dancers who wore colorful costumes inspired by the mangoes captivating and delighting the crowds and judges who traveled just to witness the festival.

Furthermore, the festival has been a platform to boost the local mango industry in the area, which took center stage in 1995 when the Guinness Book of World Records recognized the carabao or “dinamulag” variety grown in the area as the world’s sweetest mangoes.

The two-week festivities included activities such as a mango eating contest, a trade exhibit, and a cooking demonstration, with attendees having the opportunity to sample the different mango-based products from various towns in the province.

The Mango Festival has undoubtedly left a sweet taste in the mouth for both locals and visitors and has boosted the livelihoods of the communities relying on the industry.
