On Thursday, Quezon City marked a significant milestone in its digital expansion with the groundbreaking ceremony of the new data center in the city by ST Telemedia Global Data Centres.

ST Telemedia Global Data Centres, in partnership with Globe Telecom and Ayala Corporation, breaks ground for the largest and most interconnected carrier-neutral data center in the Philippines.

Strategically located in Quezon City, it was noted that the site has convenient access to nearby substations, important telecommunications and transportation links, logistics centers, and business and industry hubs.

The STT Fairview data center campus will span over 83,000 square meters of gross floor area across four buildings and is seen to potentially offer a remarkable capacity of 124 megawatts of IT load capacity once fully built supporting both hyperscalers and enterprises.

This will help businesses speed up their day-to-day operations and provide better service to their customers.

With the projected 20% annual growth rate of the Philippine digital industry through 2030, this development will cater to the increasing demand for colocation services and foster local talent in digital and green skills, positioning Quezon City as a hub for sustainable digital growth.

Moreover, this is also projected to provide crucial support for the growing digital industry not just in the country but also in the region and will set a new standard for sustainability-driven data centers in the Philippines.
