The Quezon City government led by QC Mayor Joy Belmonte continues to receive impressive accolades for its transparent and responsible handling of public funds as the Commission on Audit (COA) has awarded the city government its highest audit opinion for the third year in a row.

During the 125th Independence Day celebration, Mayor Joy Belmonte announced that COA had awarded the city government its “unqualified opinion” which is the highest audit opinion that COA can give to a government agency.

After extensive investigation and evaluation, the independent auditor’s report confirmed that QC’s financial statements complied with the “applicable financial reporting framework.”

In a courtesy call at the City Hall, COA-QC Supervising Auditor Joseph Perez personally informed Mayor Belmonte about the recognition that the local government had earned.

Mayor Belmonte expressed her gratitude and appreciation by using the opportunity to emphasize her administration’s commitment to transparent and honest public service.

“Sa ikatlong sunod na taon, mapalad ang ating siyudad na mabiyayaan ng ganitong parangal. Ito’y patunay lang ng ating tuluy-tuloy na tapat na pamamahala, at pagiging masinop sa paggamit ng pondo ng taumbayan,” said Belmonte.

Mayor Belmonte added that the recognition would not have been possible without the exceptional workforce and diligence of the city government employees.

The Quezon City government remains steadfast in its proactive efforts to ensure taxpayers that their hard-earned money is handled with the utmost integrity and responsibility.

The consistent recognition from the COA for Quezon City’s commitment to financial stewardship assures the residents that their funds are being diligently managed for their progress and the city’s development.
