A new medical school is going to be established in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM).

The Cotabato Regional and Medical Center (CRMC) and the Cotabato State University (CSU) are working together on this exciting project.

The medical school will be called the CSU-CRMC College of Medicine and will be a partnership between the two institutions.

Dr. Ishmael Dimaren, the CRMC chief of the hospital, believes that this venture is essential for the people of Mindanao, especially in the Bangsamoro region.

It will also help improve the current healthcare system, which has some gaps.

This initiative is aligned with the Doktor Para sa Bayan Act.

The law aims to provide scholarships and support for deserving medical students in state universities and colleges.

By doing so, it hopes to address the shortage of doctors in the country and improve primary healthcare in rural areas.

The team is working hard to meet all the requirements and hopes to start accepting students by next year.

They are discussing the school’s vision, mission, and objectives, ensuring it complies with the standards set by the Commission on Higher Education.

Initially, the medical school’s facilities, like classrooms, labs, library, and medical equipment, will be located at the CRMC in Cotabato City.

This is a significant step forward for healthcare and education in the region.
