On March 16, 2023, Camarines Sur declared President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. as an “adopted son” of the province, according to an announcement made by the province governor, Luigi Villafuerte.

Marcos was in Camarines Sur for the launch of a “Kadiwa ng Pangulo” outlet in the province, which is part of the government’s effort to provide affordable and fresh agricultural and fishery products to consumers.

The president also announced during the event that one of his campaign promises, which is rice at P20 per kilogram, would soon become a reality. He also added that the government is also working on decreasing the cost of onions.

The Kadiwa project began as “Kadiwa ng Pasko” during the Christmas season but has now been expanded to “Kadiwa ng Pangulo.”

The initiative has established more than 500 outlets throughout the country which is immensely beneficial for local farmers, fishermen, and small businesses who have suffered due to the pandemic. It has also helped consumers by providing affordable food options amidst the high food prices.

Furthermore, President Marcos Jr. also led the groundbreaking ceremony of the government’s housing project and distributed P826.1 million worth of interventions to Bicol farmers during his visit to Camarines Sur.

The President continues to provide initiatives that are essential to improving the lives of the Filipino people, especially since we are in a state of recovery from the pandemic. If these efforts continue throughout the country, we can see significant development in the Philippines.
