Get ready for the exciting, grander Higalaay Festival in CDO!

This year, Cagayan de Oro City has launched a bigger Higalaay Festival which began on August 1 at Rio de Oro Boulevard and will last for a whole month.

The city is expecting a whole month of awesome celebrations of friendship, unity and the city’s rich culture and heritage.

This year, there are 19 fantastic events, including a majestic fluvial and religious procession to honor St. Augustine on August 28.

Alongside the core events, there are 49 other cool activities like zumba, disco, sports, and more happening all throughout August.

The city government aims to make the festival more accessible to people. The festival aligns with the “CDO RISE” platform, which focuses on regional leadership, governance, safety, and economic recovery.

Some highlights of the festival include a heritage walking tour, agro-fair, trade fairs, competitions, and a traditional games event among others.

The festival will end with religious and fluvial processions around the city honoring Saint Augustine on August 28.

The Higalaay Festival is an incredible showcase of the city’s vibrant spirit and welcoming nature which brings people closer, fosters a sense of pride in our culture, and leaves a lasting positive impression on both locals and visitors alike.
