Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte has approved the establishment of a Learning Recovery Trust Fund to help students in the city’s public schools recover from the learning loss caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The trust fund will be used to implement learning recovery programs for public school students in Quezon City which will be funded by donations from individuals, businesses, and organizations.

These programs will focus on foundational skills, such as reading and math, which are essential for success in other subjects.

According to Mayor Belmonte, the trust fund aims to promote collaboration and partnership between the city and other stakeholders in education, with the ordinance also serving as a means to provide targeted remediation to students who need it the most.

Mayor Belmonte also encourages businesses and associations to invest in learners as they are the future workforce, emphasizing the need for comprehensive, coordinated efforts to prioritize the needs and interests of the youth.

The establishment of the trust fund is just one of the many inspiring initiatives and assistance of the Quezon City government led by QC Mayor Joy Belmonte to ensure that the students in the city have access to a quality education
