The City of Muntinlupa marked its 28th anniversary of cityhood on March 1, 2023 with a series of events and activities.

Muntinlupa was officially converted into a highly urbanized city on March 1, 1995, by President Fidel Ramos with the signing of Republic Act 7926, also known as the Charter of the City of Muntinlupa.

To commemorate the special occasion, Muntinlupa declared March 1st as a special non-working holiday through the enactment of Republic Act 9191, or the Muntinlupa City Charter Day, in 2003.

The city has organized various events to celebrate the anniversary, including the opening of a new facility specializing in geriatric care, the Bahay Kanlungan Elderly Home Care in Victoria Homes, Barangay Tunasan.

Biazon also delivered his first State of the City Address (SOCA) highlighting the accomplishments and future plans of his administration under the 7K Agenda.

Muntinlupa has achieved economic success and received several awards, including being one of the top five competitive cities in the country.

On February 28th, Biazon led the opening of the newly-refurbished Alabang Central Market wet section, one of the flagship projects of the city government. The project aimed to improve the quality and sanitation of the market, benefiting both the vendors and the customers.

The anniversary of Muntinlupa’s cityhood marks a significant milestone for the city, reflecting its growth and development over the years.
