The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) has announced its upcoming participation in the first-ever trilateral maritime exercise alongside the United States Coast Guard (USCG) and the Japan Coast Guard (JCG).

This exercise, aimed at enhancing cooperation and interoperability among the three countries, will take place from June 1 to June 7 in the waters off Mariveles, Bataan.

The PCG emphasized that the trilateral maritime exercise will encompass a range of activities designed to strengthen collaboration between the participating nations.

These activities include communication exercises, maneuvering drills, photo exercises, maritime law enforcement training, search and rescue operations (SAR), and passing exercises.

Coast Guard personnel from the three countries will join forces to demonstrate their preparedness and coordination in dealing with different situations.

Additionally, a joint law enforcement team comprising members from the PCG, USCG, and JCG will conduct a boarding inspection followed by a SAR operation, showcasing their collective capabilities in ensuring maritime safety and security.

This trilateral exercise presents an excellent opportunity to demonstrate the progress made by the PCG personnel through the programs provided by their international partners.

This trilateral maritime exercise is a significant move toward cooperation and capability strengthening of the relationship of the three nations and is a strong indication of their commitment to maintaining safe and secure regional waters amidst evolving maritime security threats.
