The Quezon City Police District (QCPD) announced a decline in the crime rate from January to March 2023 in Quezon City as a result of efficient public order and safety interventions implemented by the QCPD in collaboration with the Quezon City local government and the local law enforcement agency.

The decrease in crime rate in Quezon City is attributed to various factors, including the full utilization of QCitizen Helpline 122, efficient police response time, simulation exercises, and monitoring of crime-prone areas.

QCPD Chief PBGen. Nicolas Torre III has vowed to make QC a safer place for QCitizens and pledged to strive to achieve a crime-free community together with the QC local government.

Moreover, QC Mayor Joy Belmonte commended the QCPD for their prompt action that led to a notable reduction in crime rates in the city.

She additionally urged the public to report crime incidents to the police via the QC Helpline 122 and advised barangay leaders to carry out patrols both during the day and at night to complement the QCPD’s initiatives in safeguarding the community’s safety and security.

In March, the city government further enhanced its QCitizen Helpline 122 to cater to the needs and concerns of QCitizens. It also caters to residents’ and visitors’ complaints and feedback to further enhance the city services.

Services provided by Helpline 122 comprise emergency assistance, COVID-19-related aid, assistance for social services, reporting incidents of domestic violence, and other urgent matters that require immediate attention.

Additionally, the helpline has a non-voice counterpart which is helpdesk@quezoncity.gov.ph.

Listening to citizens and understanding their needs is part of Mayor Belmonte’s 14-point agenda which has been realized through the improvements made to Helpline 122.
