Erwin Tulfo’s text message to First Lady “Liza” Araneta Marcos reveals that family feud was the cause of “Mon” Tulfo’s departure from the Star.

According to a message from Erwin Tulfo released by Malcanang:

“We, the Tulfo siblings yesterday asked the Philippine Star Board to remove our brother, Ramon, as one of its columnist (sic) because he has already caused a lot of pain not only to so many people but also to our family. The board agreed and promised he will be removed by February 16.

“That’s one less headache for the family.”

FAMILY FEUD

According to Dante Ang of the Manila Times, Mon Tulfo cannot believe that his siblings would offer his “head” and will ask the Philippine Star to get him fired out of spite, or for any reason at all. However, the letter from Erwin Tulfo clearly shows that Mon Tulfo’s siblings were behind his demise. Dante Ang also made it clear in his column that the first lady had nothing to do with what happened to Mon Tulfo and that it was the ongoing family feud between the Tulfo brothers that caused Mon’s current predicament.

Ang also got the impression that Erwin Tulfo believes that his brother, Mon, could get in the way of him getting another government position notwithstanding the Commission on Appointments’ rejection of his application for the position of DSWD secretary.

The Tulfo brothers’ individual ambitions appear to have collided in this case and it appears to have reached a point where other people’s names are now being dragged into their family dispute.
