On February 15, 2023, Makati City launched its digitized and standardized online health certificate system which aims to provide fast and secure processing of health clearance certificates for Makatizens.

Obtaining a health clearance certificate is required for an individual to acquire a mayor’s permit in Makati and it also serves as proof that an employee/applicant is physically fit and free of contagious diseases.

Interested parties should go to https://makati.healthcert.ph and select the Health Certificate Application from the dashboard.

They can next go to an accredited clinic or laboratory for a chest X-ray and a stool examination. Before applicants can advance to the online sanitation and occupational health seminar, the diagnostic facilities will submit documentation to the MHD for approval.

Makati City Mayor Abby Binay noted that instead of visiting Makati City Hall Building 2, applicants can pay for the health clearance certificate through online payment channels GCash and Maya.

Makati City’s Ordinance 2019-A-102 states that a health clearance certificate for non-food-related establishment workers costs P80, P100 for food-related establishment workers, and P150 for executives, managers, and supervisors.

Moreover, the workers need to pay P50 for document processing and seminar.

The health clearance certificate is valid until the end of the year and must be renewed in January of each year.

Employees who do not have a health certificate will be fined P1,000 for the first infraction, P2,000 for the second, and P3,000 for the third. The penalty will be shouldered by the establishment’s owner.

Makati City has nine Makati Health Department (MHD)-accredited diagnostic facilities including Health Screen Laboratory and Diagnostic Center on Chino Roces Ave., Healthrix Medical and Diagnostic Clinic Corp. on Gen. Luna St., Megason Diagnostic Clinic in Tejeros and Comembo, RG Medical Clinic, Inc. in Bangkal, RGO Medical Laboratory and Industrial Diagnostic Center in Bangkla, Supercare Medical Services, Inc. on H.V. Dela Costa St.
